CLSI Publishes Second Edition of M24S—Performance Standards for Susceptibility Testing of Mycobacteria, Nocardia spp., and Other Aerobic Actinomycetes

The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) has published M24S—Performance Standards for Susceptibility Testing of Mycobacteria, Nocardia spp., and Other Aerobic Actinomycetes, 2nd Edition. M24S includes the minimal inhibitory concentrations and QC ranges developed following the standards described in CLSI document M24, which includes susceptibility testing procedures for Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC), clinically significant slowly and rapidly growing mycobacterial species, Nocardia spp., and other aerobic actinomycetes. Also included in this standard are recommendations for selecting agents for first-line and second-line drug testing, organism group–specific methodologies, reporting recommendations, and organism quality control criteria.

CLSI Publishes M100—Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, 33rd Edition

CLSI has published M100—Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, 33rd Edition. The tables presented in M100 represent the most current information for drug selection, interpretation, and quality control using the procedures standardized in CLSI documents M02, M07, and M11. This document is intended for use by microbiology labs, antimicrobial stewardship teams, infectious disease experts, and other relevant stakeholders intending to provide optimal patent care using the most up-to-date antimicrobial susceptibility breakpoints and test methods. To ensure the correct use of the document, users should replace previously published tables with the new edition immediately.

CLSI Publishes 3rd Edition of EP19—A Framework for Using CLSI Documents to Evaluate Medical Laboratory Test Methods

The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) has published the 3rd Edition of EP19—A Framework for Using CLSI Documents to Evaluate Medical Laboratory Test Methods. The 3rd Edition of the EP19 Report is available free, and introduces the Test Life Phases Model, which points users to CLSI evaluation protocol documents to establish and implement commercially manufactured or laboratory-developed test (LDT) methods.

The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) has announced that a new and updated version of the I/LA37 Database, Supplemental Data for Allergen Specificity for IgE Antibody Autoanalyzers, is now available. The updated database provides essential allergen information for allergy testing manufacturers and hospitals performing allergy testing, both laboratories and clinicians. It includes a harmonized listing of the allergen codes currently used by immunoglobulin E antibody assay manufacturers, along with their common name, Latin name, and allergen grouping.

Pan American Health Organization Recognizes Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute as an Official Non-State Actor

The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) announces that the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Member States have admitted CLSI into official relations as a non-state actor with PAHO for a period of three years (2022-2024). PAHO acts as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) has announced the publication of three new editions of antifungal documents: M57S—Epidemiological Cutoff Values for Antifungal Susceptibility Testing, 4th Edition, M27M44S—Performance Standards for Antifungal Susceptibility Testing of Yeasts, 3rd Edition, and M38M51S—Performance Standards for Antifungal Susceptibility Testing of Filamentous Fungi, 3rd Edition.
