President's Message - December 2017
12/7/2017
Dear CLSI members and volunteers,
I wish a very happy holiday season to the entire CLSI community and their loved ones! I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as CLSI president over the past two years. During this enjoyable and rewarding time I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with many enthusiastic and dedicated CLSI volunteers and members who have selflessly contributed their time and expertise to improve the field of laboratory medicine and global health. And, as most of you know, the CLSI staff are terrific to work with. Thanks to all of you for your hard work and support of CLSI.
As a result of your ongoing support and dedication over the years, CLSI has grown to become one of the most well-respected standards development organizations in the field of laboratory medicine. In 2018 CLSI will celebrate its 50th anniversary. With your continued support, we look forward to celebrating many more years of fulfilling our mission to develop clinical and laboratory practices and promote their use worldwide.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to CLSI’s incoming president, Mr. Carl Mottram, RRT, RPFT, FAARC, who is the Technical Director of the Mayo Clinic Pulmonary Function Laboratories and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, Mayo Clinic. I look forward to working with Mr. Mottram and the CLSI Board in my new role as CLSI’s Immediate Past President.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year,
Jack Zakowski, PhD, FACB
