Global Health Partnerships January-February 2023 Updates

CLSI staff recently returned from a busy trip that included stops in India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Highlights from the trip included attending the India Directors Conclave and MedLab Middle East, as well as giving a 3-day training on the updates in ISO 15189:2022.

India Directors Conclave

The CLSI staff recently traveled to India for the India Directors Conclave in partnership with the Foundation for Quality India (FQI). The event was a great success, and the CLSI team had the opportunity to meet with other health care professionals from around the India and share best practices. The Conclave was an excellent opportunity for the CLSI staff to learn more about India's health care landscape and how they can better partner to support the country's health care needs.

MedLab Middle East

The CLSI staff recently traveled to Dubai, UAE for the MedLab Middle East conference. This is a huge conference for laboratory professionals, and it was attended by thousands from around the world. CLSI had a stand at the conference and had wonderful conversations with those who attended. The conference focused on the latest advances in laboratory medicine and featured speakers from various countries.

One of the highlights of the conference was a talk by Dr. Barb Jones, CEO of CLSI. She spoke about the role of quality in shaping the future of laboratories in the digitalization and biotechnology era. This was a timely topic, as laboratories are increasingly using technology to improve their operations. Jones' talk emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of quality in order to meet the challenges posed by new technologies.

ISO Training

The ISO training was a 3-day event that took place after the MedLab conference in Dubai. It was led by CLSI staff and focused on updates to the ISO 15189:2022 standard. This standard is used by laboratories around the world, and the workshop provided attendees with an opportunity to learn about the latest changes. The workshop was well-received and provided valuable information for those who attended.
